Refractory Castable Plasticizer & Dispersant (Kimiplast M09)

The refractory castable plasticiser and dispersant (Kimiplast M09) is a powder additive for microsilica-containing refractory castables. It disperses the very fine particles and frees the water trapped between them, so the same flow is reached with less mixing water. Less water means lower porosity, higher strength and lower drying energy. It is used mainly in low-cement castables, self-flowing castables and precast refractory shapes. The optimum dose for each castable is determined on the customer's own mix in our laboratory. Method of use: weigh the required amount against the dry weight of the castable; dry-blend for 1–2 minutes; add about 80% of the calculated water and mix for 2–3 minutes; add the remaining water drop-wise only until the target flow is reached; then cast and vibrate to the plant's normal routine. Storage and packaging: keep in dry, covered storage at 5–30 °C, away from direct sunlight; reseal opened bags; shelf life 12 months in unopened original packaging. Supplied in 25 kg bags, 1000 kg per shrink-wrapped pallet, and 1000 kg jumbo bags. A batch analysis certificate and a safety data sheet travel with every shipment. As a domestically produced refractory plasticizer and a locally supplied castable dispersant, it offers short lead times, no exposure to currency swings and no import interruption — the same product, shipment after shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it change setting time?

The purpose of this additive is flow, not set time. If the line depends on a specific set time, it is adjusted separately.

What happens if it is overdosed?

Overdosing can cause water separation and coarse-grain settling; reduce the dose in steps.

How does it work with hard plant water?

Plasticiser performance is sensitive to water hardness; send a water analysis and the dose is set against that water.
